Painting 

Laura Luisa Cowell is currently enjoying an encore career as a painter of fine art and portraiture.
She holds a BFA and an MFA in Theatrical Set Design. For many years she did designing and painting for theater, opera, ballet and TV (working for the New York City Opera, The American Ballet Theater, the Santa Fe Opera, Boston Opera Theater, Actors Theater of Louisville and many more).
In the late 1980's she began working in the special events industry in New York and continued in that field after moving back to Chicago in 1989. This led Laura to work several years as a partner for a premier Chicago company, Millennium Special Events. About twelve years ago she retired from that field and began painting on her own.
Because of her many years of experience in the theatrical and special events fields, she is able to paint in almost any style requested. At this time she is focusing on a more realistic approach with her portraiture and paintings.
